5 habits that are damaging your hair and how to avoid them!

We tend to ignore some rules for maintaining healthy hair and we all make mistakes that affect the beauty. However, it is important to mention that even intensive care can sometimes damage the hair and has the opposite effect that we desire. 

Here are some habits that we need to avoid if we want appealing results. 

Constantly tying your hair at the same spot 

Tying your ponytail at the same spot everyday can damage your hair. It damages the hair were the band is tied and also your front line. 

Advice: If you can't change the style of your hair and you like it in a ponytail, try and tie the hair a centimeter away from where you usually tie it. Try and avoid your hair being tied up really tight and when it is, use smooth and soft bands. 

 

 

Rubbing aggressively with a towel to quickly dry your hair

A big mistake women usually make is rubbing aggressively with a towel to quickly dry the hair. The hair is sensitive, especially when wet, so rubbing with a towel can cause damage to the hair. 

Advice: After showering just gently twist your hair for the water to rinse. Wrap a towel around your head and leave it for 10 minutes. Also, if the weather is nice and warm try and avoid drying your hair with a hairdryer, with this process you will dry the hair naturally without the use of strong heat. 

 

Washing your hair everyday

It might seem strange, but it's true. Washing and shampooing your hair everyday just does the opposite of what you're trying to achieve. The hair looks best when the natural oils from the scalp reach to the tip of the hair. The more you wash your hair, the more you need to dry it, which leads to damaging. 

Advice: Wash your hair every second or third day, depending on its type. The hair is most gorgeous when the natural oils run through it. 

 

 

You comb your hair too often 

Do you believe in the myth Hair should be combed 100 times every night to look brighter? If you do, it's time to stop. If you overdo it with combing what you're basically doing is exhausting the hair. This leads to damaged tips and thin hair.

Advice: When combing, move the comb through your hair several times to blow up the natural oils from the scalp to the tip of the hair. 

 

You wait an eternity before trimming your hair

If you haven't been to the hairdressers in over 7 weeks, it's time to pay them a little visit. The more you trim your hair from time to time the healthier it becomes. Not going to the hairdressers just leaves your hair dry and damaged. 

Advice: Make an appointment every 6-8 weeks after a trim. It will leave your hair looking shiny and full of life!
